Ranveer Singh’s much-awaited film Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge is already rewriting box office history even before its theatrical release. The spy action thriller has crossed a massive Rs 130 crore mark in worldwide advance bookings, signaling a phenomenal opening.
Slated to release on March 19, the film is expected to set new benchmarks as it arrives in multiple languages across global markets. The excitement around the film has forced theatre chains to increase show counts significantly, with some cinemas even scheduling their first shows as early as 2 AM.
According to early trade reports, Dhurandhar 2 has collected around Rs 40.70 crore from paid preview shows scheduled for March 18. Additionally, the film has already generated over Rs 29.35 crore through advance ticket sales by selling more than 6.70 lakh tickets across 15,000+ shows, including block bookings.
The Hindi version has led the charge, contributing Rs 19.27 crore from 4.19 lakh ticket sales. Meanwhile, regional versions have also shown decent traction. The Telugu dubbed version sold over 30,000 tickets, while Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada versions added smaller yet notable numbers to the overall tally.
The film is also expected to face competition from Ustaad Bhagat Singh starring Pawan Kalyan, but current trends indicate a strong edge for Dhurandhar 2.
Internationally, the film has recorded around Rs 65 crore in advance bookings for the opening weekend alone. Combining domestic and overseas figures, the total advance booking collection has now crossed Rs 135 crore globally (including block seats).
Releasing during major festivals like Eid, Ugadi, and Gudi Padwa, the film is expected to benefit from an extended holiday weekend, boosting its opening numbers further.
Interestingly, the film’s runtime of 3 hours and 55 minutes has also influenced theatre scheduling, with exhibitors adjusting show timings to accommodate maximum screenings.
The massive demand for Dhurandhar 2 has even led to changes in iconic cinema schedules. The legendary film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, has had its long-standing fixed slot shifted to make room for additional shows of the new release.
With record-breaking advance bookings, strong global demand, and festive release timing, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge is all set to take a historic opening at the box office. All signs point towards a blockbuster start as the film gears up for its grand release.
