Ranveer Singh - Dhurandhar The Revenge
The overseas advance booking for Dhurandhar: The Revenge has begun on a powerful note, indicating massive anticipation for the Ranveer Singh starrer across international markets. Early ticket sales suggest that the action thriller could be heading toward one of the biggest openings ever for a Bollywood film overseas.
The United States has emerged as the strongest market for the film so far. Early reports suggest that the movie has already generated close to USD 600,000 in advance ticket sales for the upcoming weekend.
Out of this figure, more than USD 250,000 has been sold for Wednesday preview shows, while Thursday—the official opening day—has crossed USD 100,000 in presales. The remaining bookings are spread across Friday and Saturday, each already touching the USD 100,000 mark in advance sales.
To put this in perspective, the earlier benchmark for a Bollywood film at a similar stage was held by Pathaan and Jawan, which had around USD 300,000 in presales during the same period before release. This means Dhurandhar: The Revenge is currently performing at nearly double that pace, highlighting the tremendous excitement among audiences.
Based on the current trend, trade analysts expect the film to comfortably cross USD 1 million in preview collections in the United States, and it could even approach USD 1.5 million or possibly USD 2 million before the official weekend begins.
If the momentum continues, the film’s four-day extended weekend total in the US could move close to USD 10 million, placing it among the biggest Bollywood openings in the region. Historically, only a few Hindi films have crossed the USD 10 million mark in the United States, making this milestone particularly significant.
The film is also performing exceptionally well in Australia. Advance ticket sales have already reached around AUD 100,000, which is roughly 40–50 percent higher than what films like Pathaan and Jawan achieved at the same stage before release.
With bookings increasing rapidly, industry trackers believe the film could aim for an opening weekend close to AUD 3 million, potentially setting a new benchmark for a Bollywood release in the market.
Canada, where the first Dhurandhar film performed extremely well, is expected to open advance bookings soon. Trade experts believe that once ticket sales begin, the market could deliver similarly strong numbers.
In the United Kingdom, the first film performed solidly with collections exceeding GBP 3 million, even though it missed the all-time record. The sequel is also witnessing healthy presales in the region. While the current numbers are slightly behind Pathaan and Jawan, the Eid holiday period traditionally boosts cinema attendance, which could help the film catch up during its theatrical run.
One key overseas market missing from the lineup is the Middle East, where the original film also did not release. The sequel is expected to face a similar situation. This region is traditionally one of the biggest markets for Hindi cinema, especially during Eid, and its absence could affect the film’s overall overseas opening numbers.
Even so, the extraordinary demand in other international markets suggests that Dhurandhar: The Revenge could still deliver a massive global opening and come close to challenging some of the biggest overseas records set by recent Bollywood blockbusters.
