Ranveer Singh - Dhurandhar 2
Dhurandhar 2 is gaining strong traction in the United States well ahead of its theatrical release. With Yash’s Toxic shifting its release date to June, the Ranveer Singh-led action thriller now enjoys a clear solo window on March 19 — and early booking numbers suggest the film is capitalizing on the advantage.
According to trade tracking platform Sacnilk, Dhurandhar 2 has already surpassed the $100,000 mark in advance sales in North America, even though its release is still about 15 days away. Of this, nearly $70,000 comes from premiere shows scheduled for March 18.
The film has not yet opened advance bookings across all screens and locations, meaning the total is expected to grow substantially in the coming days. With momentum building steadily, trade analysts believe the sequel could aim for the $1 million milestone from premiere shows alone.
At present, the record for the biggest premiere earnings by an Indian film in the US is held by Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor and directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. The film had collected around $1.2 million from US premieres in 2023. Dhurandhar 2’s current pace indicates that it could challenge that benchmark.
The first installment of the franchise performed exceptionally well overseas, reportedly earning over $20 million across the US and Canada. During its theatrical run, it even surpassed Baahubali 2: The Conclusion in North America to become the highest-grossing Indian film in that market at the time.
Given this track record and the strong pre-release buzz, expectations are high that the sequel will replicate — or possibly exceed — that success.
The postponement of Toxic has significantly altered the box office scenario. Yash, who headlines and co-produces Toxic, confirmed that the film has been pushed to June 4 due to uncertainty in the Middle East affecting global distribution plans.
This development has effectively eliminated the much-talked-about clash between the two big-budget films. With no major Bollywood release scheduled for the remainder of March, Dhurandhar 2 now stands as the only large-scale Hindi release on March 19.
Trade projections currently estimate an opening weekend collection in the ₹150–200 crore range in India, depending on occupancy trends and screen count expansion.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar 2 continues the story of Hamza, also known as Jaskirat, played by Ranveer Singh. The sequel also features R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Sanjay Dutt, with a cameo appearance by Akshaye Khanna.
The original Dhurandhar (2025) was a massive global success, reportedly earning ₹1300 crore worldwide and ranking among the highest-grossing Hindi films of all time.
With advance bookings already crossing the $100K mark in the US and momentum building daily, Dhurandhar 2 appears to be heading toward a powerful overseas debut — potentially rewriting records if the current trend continues.
