Pinkvilla Predicts Massive Opening for ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ After Solo Release; Forecast Jumps Higher

As per a new box office projection by Pinkvilla, Dhurandhar: The Revenge is now positioned for an even stronger debut after securing a solo release window. The sequel was earlier expected to open in the ₹67–77 crore nett range despite competition, but with rival releases stepping aside, trade expectations have climbed significantly.

Pinkvilla Forecast Sees Sharp Upside

In its latest “Pinkvilla Predicts” report, the publication estimates that Dhurandhar: The Revenge could collect between ₹75 crore and ₹90 crore nett on its first day in India. The pinpoint forecast currently stands at approximately ₹85 crore nett.

The upward revision comes after the postponement of Toxic (Hindi), leaving the Ranveer Singh-starrer with a clear run at the box office on 19 March 2026. With no major Hindi release scheduled for 26 March either, the film is expected to enjoy an extended window without immediate competition.

Screen Count vs Runtime: A Key Limiting Factor

Despite the solo release advantage, Pinkvilla notes that the film’s lengthy runtime — reportedly close to four hours — may restrict the number of daily screenings. While major commercial releases typically secure five to six shows per day per screen, Dhurandhar: The Revenge is likely to average four shows daily due to its duration.

Even if an additional late-night show is added, occupancy during unconventional hours tends to be lower. This factor could limit the film’s absolute ceiling, even though it is still projected to challenge or surpass opening-day records.

Changing Circuit Dynamics Post-Pandemic

Another element highlighted in Pinkvilla’s analysis is the performance trend of key central circuits such as Mumbai and CPCI. Before the pandemic, tentpole films frequently approached 40 lakh footfalls in a single day — a number that would translate to roughly ₹100 crore nett in today’s ticket pricing environment.

However, those circuits have not consistently delivered pre-pandemic-level numbers in recent years. The extended runtime may further restrict total footfalls, potentially keeping the film just short of certain historic benchmarks.

Dubbed Versions to Add to Total

The film is also slated to release in dubbed versions, which are expected to contribute an additional ₹10–15 crore nett. However, business in some southern circuits could face pressure if regional competition intensifies — particularly with the possibility of another major Telugu release on the same date.

According to Pinkvilla Predicts, the current Day 1 India nett forecast stands as follows:

• Low-End Estimate: ₹75 crore
• High-End Estimate: ₹90 crore
• Pinpoint Projection: ₹85 crore

With showcasing details and screen allocations expected to become clearer closer to release, the forecast may still see further adjustments. For now, Pinkvilla’s projection indicates that Dhurandhar: The Revenge is firmly on track for one of the biggest openings in recent times.
